How many robotaxis does Tesla have?

Brighter Finance has no Tesla-reported count of active robotaxis yet. As of Oct 16, 2026, the Texas DMV lists 769 Tesla vehicles authorized as automated motor vehicles (349 Cybercab and 420 Model Y). An authorization is not the same as a vehicle in active service.

Tesla's Q2 2026 update says Fremont production is "anticipated later this year". Tesla's Q2 2026 update says first-generation Optimus lines are being installed at Fremont. Tesla's 2026 Q1/Q2 updates disclose no Optimus production count.
