Information we collect

Brighter Finance collects the account, profile, membership, request, billing-status, and preference information needed to operate the member experience.

  • Account details such as name, email, role, organization, profile settings, saved preferences, and watchlists.
  • Membership and billing records such as Stripe customer ID, subscription status, selected plan, renewal period, and cancellation state. Brighter does not store full card numbers.
  • Member-submitted requests, Concierge interest, expert-introduction context, research notes, support messages, and app activity needed for security and product improvement.

How we use information

We use member information to run Brighter Finance, personalize the investor OS, process subscriptions, route member requests, improve the product, and protect the service.

  • To authenticate members, show saved settings, maintain watchlists, deliver in-app updates, and sync subscription access.
  • To process Checkout, Customer Portal, invoices, renewals, cancellations, and failed-payment states through Stripe.
  • To respond to support requests, improve dashboards and research workflows, monitor reliability, and prevent misuse.

Payments and processors

Stripe handles hosted Checkout, payment methods, invoices, and billing portal actions. Stripe's own terms and privacy practices apply when members use Stripe-hosted pages.

  • Brighter keeps only the Stripe identifiers and subscription fields needed to confirm access.
  • Webhook events are verified before billing state is written to our database.
  • Payment-method details stay with Stripe unless Stripe returns limited display data for account management.

Concierge and referrals

When Concierge, expert introductions, or provider referrals are available, Brighter will ask for consent before sharing member contact details or request context with an outside expert or provider.

  • Members choose whether to request an introduction or referral.
  • Brighter may keep request records so the team can track consent, status, and follow-up.
  • Referral or sponsorship relationships should be disclosed where relevant before the handoff.

Storage, security, and choices

We use reasonable safeguards and trusted service providers to protect member data, but no internet service can guarantee perfect security.

  • Some settings are saved locally in the browser until account-wide preference sync is added.
  • Members may request access, correction, deletion, or export of their account information, subject to security, billing, tax, fraud-prevention, and legal retention needs.
  • External links, podcasts, videos, payment pages, and provider sites are governed by their own policies.
